Pianist Claire Wachter

Claire Wachter, the creator of The Virtual Piano Pedagogue, is the first pianist to bring high-level pianism and advanced master course instruction to the powerful new video media that define the musical community in the world today. Wachter’s videos have been viewed by pianists throughout the U.S., Canada, Taiwan, Korea, Singapore, China, and South America.

As a soloist, Wachter has performed in the U.S., Canada, Austria, Spain and Italy. She has presented recitals, lectures and master classes in Taiwan, Japan, Singapore, China and Korea. With pianist Dean Kramer, Wachter has performed two-piano recitals and concertos in the United States and Canada, as well as Taiwan’s National Recital Hall, China’s Qingdao Grand Hall and New York’s Steinway Hall.

She has been a featured performer at The Oregon Bach Festival, the Oregon Festival of American Music, the Utah Music Festival, the Rome Festival (Italy) and the Russian River Chamber Music Festival (California). In the Northwest, she has appeared with the Eugene Symphony, the Oregon Symphony and the Oregon Mozart Players. As a collaborative artist, Ms. Wachter has performed chamber music concerts with members of the New York Philharmonic, the Los Angeles Philharmonic, the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra, and the Chicago, Philadelphia, Oregon, and Pittsburgh Symphonies.

Ms. Wachter has held faculty positions at the University of Texas in Austin (collaborative piano) and the University of the Pacific in California (piano performance). Presently, she is Professor of Piano, Emerita at the University of Oregon. Her students have been prizewinners in local, regional and national competitions.
